Prof. Dr. Mesut PARLAK ( Rector of İstanbul University )
He was born in Malatya in 1940. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Malatya and graduated from Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University. He became research assistant in 1968, specialist in 1972, assistant professor in 1979 and professor in 1988 in the same faculty. Then, he served as dean of Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University from 1996 to 1998. Currently he is the rector of Istanbul University. He has more than 130 academic articles and papers published in many periodicals.
