Büyükelçi Serdar KILIÇ ( Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the United States, Washington, Turkey )
Ambassador Kılıç was born in 1958 in Samsun. He is a graduate of Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences. He first served as a First Secretary at the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to NATO (1993-1997) and later as the Chief of Section and the Acting Head of Department at the Deputy General Directorate of NATO and Euro-Atlantic Security and Defense Affairs in Ankara (1997-1999). In 1999, he was appointed as Counselor to the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to NATO where he stayed until 2003.
Ambassador Kılıç previously served as Ambassador to Japan (2012-2014) and he was the Secretary-General of National Security Council of The Republic of Turkey from 2010 to 2012. Ambassador Serdar Kılıç was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the United States in April 2014.
Ambassador Kılıç is married and has three sons.
