Hasan Rouhani
Hasan Rouhani was born in 12 November 1948, Simnan. He is the seventh President of Iran. He is also a lawmaker, diplomat and academician.
Rouhani started religious studies in 1960 in Qom. He studied modern courses, and was admitted to the University of Tehran in 1969, and obtained a B.A. degree in Judicial Law in 1972. He has master’s and doctoral degree from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Rouhani ran for the presidential office during the election in June 2013, and won at the same time the sympathy of the country’s pro-reformers with moderate views, and was also seen as a favorite among candidates because of his close ties with the religious leaders. By winning the elections with a vote percentage of 52%, he became the 7th president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
