Utku ÇAKIRÖZER ( Journalist-Writer )
He was born in 1970, in Eskişehir. He had earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering and his master’s degree in political science from Bilkent University. He had taken interactive journalism courses for one year from Philip Merrill College of Journalism at University of Maryland. Since 1994 he had worked for Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Channel 6, TRT and Milliyet Newspaper. Between 2008 and 2009; he had worked for Los Angeles Times and Washington Post in USA. In 2009 he had become the Ankara representative of Cumhuriyet Newspaper. Since 2013; he has been one of the commentators of TV show called “Ankara Günlüğü” in CNN TURK. In 2006 he was awarded by Progressive Journalists Association and in 2007 he received Nezih Demirkent Journalism Award. In the international arena; he was rewarded with Daniel Pearl Journalism Scholarship in 2008 and Humphrey Scholarship in 2009. In 2012; he received Sedat Simavi Journalism Award from Turkish Journalists’ Association. He is a member of Turkish Journalists’ Association, Turkish Journalists’ Union, Progressive Journalists Association and Chamber of Electrical Engineers.
