Prof. Veysel EROĞLU ( Minister of Forestry and Water )

He was born in 1948, Afyonkarahisar- Şuhut. His father’s name is Ibrahim and mother’s name is Emine. He graduated from civil engineering at Istanbul Technical University and Department of History at Istanbul University, Faculty of Arts. He made researches in Holland. He became assoc. prof. in 1984 and professor in 1991.  He served as the member of executive board of Faculty of Civil Engineering at ITU, head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, General Director of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), board member of İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ, BİMTAŞ, HAMİDİYE, İSFALT Inc. and Istanbul Tree and Landscape Inc. He was appointed to Director General of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ). He is the founder and member of the Waters Foundation (SU VAKFI). He is also governor of the World Water Council. He has professional technical reports, declaration, books and over 350 scientific reports 45 of which are in foreign languages.   He was elected as Deputy of Afyonkarahisar in 23rd term. He was appointed to the Minister of Environment and Forestry in the 60th government and Minister of Forestry and Water in 61st government. He speaks English. He is married with four children.
