Ali BULAÇ ( Journalist-Writer )

He was born in 1951, in Mardin. He had graduated from Istanbul Islamic Institute in 1975 and from the department of sociology at faculty of literature in Istanbul University in 1980. From 1976 to 1980; he had published a magazine called “Idea” monthly. He became the editorial director of Human Publishing House in 1984. He had worked as the Istanbul Representative of Zaman Newspaper between 1986 and 1987 which he is one of the founding members. From 1988 onwards; he had worked in various newspapers and journals as editor and his writings had been published in various newspapers. He is still working in Mehtap TV Channel. His writings about contemporary issues in Islamic World, problems about ideas, social transformation and modernization have been published in certain newspapers such as Milli Gazete, Yeni Şafak and Zaman and also in various journals. In 1988, his book “Humanity’s search for freedom” had won an award from Writers Union of Turkey. He was in the list of “World’s most influential 500 hundred Muslims” which was published by Georgetown University and Jordan Strategic Studies Centre in 2009. He is still writing on the issues of foreign and domestic policies of Turkey, non-western modernization, crisis of modern world and Islamic Societies in Zaman and Today’s Zaman Newspapers. Also he is a lecturer at Fatih University. He had published many books and articles which were translated into various languages.
