Recep KONUK

Recep KONUK ( Chairman of Konya Şeker Inc. )

Born in Konya – Çumra in 1956. He was graduated from Konya Selçuk University. He studied Business Administration at Dokuz Eylül University. He served as teacher and executive in Şanlıurfa. In 1985, he began his business life. He was elected as Mayor of Çumra Municipality in 1994. He was elected as Chairman of executive board of Konya Şeker and Konya Pancar Ekicileri Cooperative in 1999 and Pankobirlik in 2000. He activated capitals and many facilities in Konya Şeker. He realized model projects in agricultural sector. He enabled the production of innovative products such as liquid sugar, bioethanol and biogas. After starting the most assertive plantation campaign He aimed to plant saplings as many as the population. He was granted many awards, plaquet and medal such as “Entrepreneur of the Year”, “Consumer Friendly”, “Innovative of the Year”, “Environmentalist of the Year”.  In 2009, he was given honorary doctorate by Selçuk University. He is married with three children.
