Prof. Yılmaz BÜYÜKERŞEN ( Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan )
Born in 1936, Eskişehir. He was graduated from Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences in 1962. He received his BA in 1966 and PhD in 1968 from the same academy and also he became professor in 1973 in this university. He established the School of Cinema and Television which awarding diploma in Turkey firstly and the first colorful studio and broadcast system in Eskişehir. He was elected as chairman of the academy both in 1976 and in 1980. He served as rector in Anadolu University in which his Faculty of Open University project has been conducted between 1982 and 1993. He served as a member and chairman of Higher Council of Radio and Television (RTÜK) between 1985 and 1993. He was elected as TEGV’s chairman of executive board for four years and mayor of metropolitan municipality three times since 1999. He served as Chairman of Turkish Delegation in Congress of European Council Local and Regional Administration until 2004. He is married with 3 children.
