Prof. Dr. Bekir KARLIĞA

Prof. Bekir KARLIĞA ( Chairman, National Coordination Committee of the Alliance of Civilizations, Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi )

Born in Besni – Adıyaman in 1947. He was graduated from Kahramanmaraş İmam Hatip Lisesi in 1965. He was graduated from Istanbul High Islamic Institution in 1972 and Philosophy Department at Faculty of Literature in 1977. He completed his PhD at the same faculty with the thesis “İslâm Kaynakları Işığında Pythogoras ve Pre-Sokratik Filozoflar” in 1980.  After the High Islamic Institution had turned into a faculty he was appointed as assistant professor at Directory of Kelam-Phylosophy Department in 1983. He made scientific researches in Paris between 1985 – 1986. He became associated professor in 1987 and professor in 1993. He was assigned as advisor to the Prime Minister in 2009. He is still the chairman of the National Coordination Committee of the Alliance of Civilizations in Bahçeşehir University.
