Nihat GÖKYİĞİT ( Chairman of the Board, Tekfen Holding )
Nihat Gökyiğit was born February 23, 1925 in Artvin, after graduated from Robert College, like Feyyaz Berker, Nihat Gökyiğit decided to continue his studies at the University of Michigan in America. Feyyaz Berker and Necati Akça Filar, in the middle 1950s he developed Tekfen, one of Turkey‘s leading construction companies.
He also extended the private sector through international associations, becoming co-chair of the Turkish-Soviet Business Council, which refocused on the CIS after the Soviet Union‘s end. In addition, he has represented the Turkish private sector in the Black Sea Economic Co-operation Business Council. Mr. Gökyiğit received Environmental Service Award from Akdeniz University and has been given a title of honorary PhD from Boğaziçi University, Çukuorova University and Gazi Osman Paşa University. Received a “State Meritorious Service Medal” from The Presidency of the Republic of Turkey” in 2010, A. Nihat Gökyiğit awarded as “Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year” from Ernst &Young in 2009.
