Ambassador Yaşar Halit ÇEVİK ( Deputy Undersecretary at Foreign Affairs )

Born in 1955, in Kocaeli – Golcuk. He was graduated from International Relations at Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University. He started to work at Bilateral Economic and Cultural Affairs Department. He assumed various duties in Embassy in Khartoum, consulate general in Stuttgart, International Economic Organizations Department and Embassy in Athens. He served as head of division in Maritime Affairs Department in 1993 and special advisor to the minister, head of European Council Department and consul general of Turkish Consulate General in Zurich in 1995, consul and 1st consul of Turkish Embassy in Beijing in 1997, advisor to the Foreign Affairs, Prime Ministry in 1999, head of department in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and general directorate for Bilateral Political Affairs and maritime-aviation and deputy director general in General Directorate for Bilateral Political Affairs and maritime-aviation in 2000. In 2004, he was assigned as, special advisor to the Undersecretary and Deputy Director General in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ambassador of Turkey to Syria in 2004. He has been served as deputy undersecretary for General Political Affairs. He is married with 2 children. He speaks English.
