Avni ÖZGÜREL ( Writer, Radikal Newspaper )
Born in 1948, in Ankara. He graduated from the Department of Public Finance at Faculty of Economics and Commercial Sciences. He has started in Ulus Newspaper as a journalist in Ankara. In this time, he worked in newspapers such as Milliyet, Akşam, Yeni İstanbul, Ayrıntılı Haber and Yankı magazine as well. In 1981, he wrote many texts of documentary film and scripts for TRT particularly Belene, first film script reflecting the condition of Bulgarian Turks. He worked at Gelişim Publishing. He worked as editor for special news at Sabah and Radikal newspaper, chief editor for Doğan Media Group’s Yeni Ufuk newspaper. He wrote the scripts of movies such as “Zincirbozan” and “Büyük Oyun” besides documentary films, supported both TRT and Ministry of Culture and Tourism. TV programs both he managed and participated; analysis in panels and conferences are followed by masses with a great interest. Özgürel still writes documentary and dramatic films and works as a columnist for Radikal Newspaper.
