Prof. Dr. Nazif M. SHAHRANI ( Indiana University, USA )
He was born in Afghanistan- Bedehşan. He finished his license in 1967 at Kabil University, Faculty of Education. He completed his post graduate at Hawaii University, his master and doctor’s degree at Washington University in anthropology field. He made anthropologic studies in Wakhan district which is between pastoral nomad Kirghiz and Wakhi community. He became the consultant of “The Kirghiz of Afghanistan” named ethnographic movie. He worked with Nevada University, Stanford University and UCLA. He made field researches on Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He has been a lecturer at Indiana University Departments of Anthropology, Middle Eurasia Studies, Near East Languages and Cultures since 1990.
