Recai KUTAN

He was born in Malatya in 1930. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University Engineering Faculty in 1952 and started his political life in 1973. He became Vice Chairman of Milli Selamet Party, Member of Parliament and Minister of Development and Housing in 1977. Mr. Kutan, who served within Refah Party after 1983, was elected Member of Parliament and became Minister of energy and natural resources in 1996. He has been Chairman of Fazilet Party that has been founded after suppression of Refah Party. Also after suppression of Fazilet Party, he led Saadet Party until 26 October 2008.
