Lokman AYVA ( AK Party Istanbul Deputy )

 

He was born in Konya in 1966. He graduated from Boğaziçi University Management Department in 1993and assumed Maser degree on management. Mr. Ayva who is a leader of organized blind movement in Turkey published journal of “Karanlıktan Aydınla Adım (Step from Darkness to Light)” and became founder and chairman of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Coordination Center for Disables between 1994-1995. He worked as high school teacher on English language between 1996-2000 and was appointed Manger of Coordination Center for Disables in 2001. As a chairman of White Moon Association, member of Management Board of Foundation for Physically Handicapped Persons and member of plenary assembly of Turkey Blinds Federation, he has worked to minimize problems of disables in Turkey and has been their representative abroad.  He was elected deputy on parliamentary elections on 3 November 2002 and has been first blind deputy in the Turkish political history.
