Doç. Dr. Hanım HALİLOVA
Hanım Halilova was born in Azerbaijan. Her father Aziz Haliloglu was exiled because he opposed the Soviet system. Hanım Halilova was born while her family was in exile. Her mother Merife Hanım’s father Mustafa Bey and mother Ayse Hanım were killed by Armenians.
Ms Halilova won the Faculty of Chemistry of Azerbaijan State University in the year she finished her secondary education. The year she graduated from the university, she took the doctoral exam and won. The subject of her doctoral thesis was “Biogeochemistry of Selenium Element”. Biogeochemistry has not been studied in Azerbaijan or other states apart from Moscow. Ms Halilova did her doctoral studies at the Institute of “Biogeochemistry” in Moscow and Biology in Riga, Latvia.
Hanım Halilova finished her doctoral thesis ahead of time as the first person on Biogeochemistry in Azerbaijan and was awarded the title of Doctor in 1974 and Associate Professor in 1979.
