He finished the Department of Finance and Economy of the Ankara University. He served as an established officer in the Prefectures of Kastamonu-Bozkurt and Mardin-Cizre. He worked as the Deputy Governor of Gaziantep for 3 and a half years. He was appointed as the Governor of Tekirda\u011f in 1988. He was appointed to the Governorship of Malatya in 1990, to the Governorship of Denizli in 1992, to the Governorship of Adana in 1996 and to the Governorship of Bursa in 2003. During his period in the Governorship of Bursa, he was chosen as the \u201cGovernor of the Year\u201d for two times, mainly because of the social projects that he has carried out. He was appointed to the Governorship of Izmir in 2005 and lastly to the Security General Directorate in 2007. He still carries out the post of Security General Director.
