He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University. He worked as a lawyer for some time. He began to work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978. He has served in Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Germany and USA. He also served as consul general in Azerbaijan, Austria and Australia and as ambassador in Ghana. He was the recipient of Honorary Doctorate of the Private University of Nakhchivan, Commander of the National Order of the Republic of Benin and \u201cThe Social Harmony in the Public Services Award 2010\u201d of the Australian Intercultural Society.\u00a0 He is the permanent representative of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
