He received his PhD degree in Economics at University of California at Santa Barbara in which he had Full-Bright scholarship. Professor Tarhan was visiting from Loyola University of Chicago where he was the Ralph Marotta Professor of Free Enterprise. Professor Tarhan held visiting positions at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University also during 1988-1990 and 1998-2000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on the studies of European Economic Association, Vefa Tarhan was ranked as 107<sup>th<\/sup> among the most important 1000 economist in the world. He honoured as \u201cthe professor of the year\u201d among the students of three different universities. Professor Tarhan honoured as \u201cthe most successful researcher of the year\u201d at Loyola University of Chicago in 2011.
