He graduated from Theology Faculty of Ankara University. He assumed the PhD degree in the Department of Geographical and Historical Sciences and Humanities at Paris-7 University. He studied as a researcher in \u0130SAM between 1996 and 2006. Currently he is member of Theology Faculty of Istanbul University. He studies \u201cOttoman Africa\u201d through researching especially the documents of Ottoman Archives of Prime Ministry.
