Prof. Justin McCARTHY ( Historian and Demographer, USA )
He was born in 1945. He is specialized in history after having first studied philosophy. He worked at the Middle East University and Ankara University between 1967-1969. He completed his PhD in UCLA University in 1978. He holds an honorary doctorate from Boğaziçi University. Prof. McCarthy is a board member of the Institute of Turkish Studies. He is currently working as a professor of history at the University of Louisville. His area of expertise is the history of Ottoman Empire, Balkans and Middle East.
