Prof.  Vamık VOLKAN ( Academician – Writer )

Born in Cyprus – Lefkosa in 1932. He was graduated from Kıbrıs İslam Lisesi in 1950 and Ankara University School of Medicine in 1956. He went to the USA and until 2002, he had been worked as a lecturer at Virginia University for 45 years. He had served as chief physician at hospital of the same university for 18 years. He published over 40 books in Turkish particularly “Ölümsüz Atatürk: Yaşamı ve İç Dünyası”, Kıbrıs: Savaş ve Uyum”,”Kimlik Adına Öldürmek: Kanlı Çatışmalar Üzerine Bir İnceleme”, “Körü Körüne İnanç: Kriz ve Terör Dönemlerinde Geniş Gruplar ve Liderleri”, “Psikanalitik Öyküler 1: Kozmik Kahkaha”, “Psikanalitik Öyküler 2: Atlarla Yaşayan Kadın”, “Psikanalitik Öyküler 3: Kusursuz Kadının Peşinde” ve “Fanustaki İnsanlar” and scientific paper over 400. He did indefinite research about psychological conflict and identity and field work. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by means of psycho-politic theories and efforts for peace in many problem regions in the world.
