Esin AFŞAR ( Deceased Singing Artist – Writer – Actress )
Born in 1936 in Italy. He was graduated from Department of Piano at Ankara State Conservatory. She directed her life in his early age by taking voice and singing lessons from important people such as Madam Hidalgo and Madam Böhm. He entered to Turkish State Theatres as pianist in 1940s and with Muhsin Eroğlu’s support she had played in the theatre for 12 years. She refocused on music while she was working as guest actress in Ankara Square Stage. She was studying on the branch of Turkish vocal soft music before she met with Ruhi Su and became an expert on contemporary folk music. Afşar who went to Hungary for giving concert as a “diplomatic artist” in 1969, gave many concerts both in in and outside of Turkey and awarded prizes. She played single – seat theatre “Kelaynaklar”. She made her first long play in 1986. She was invited to a concert in an international festival organized against racism in France – Audincourt in 1990. Upon the death of her mother launched a campaign for the elderly. She put out Yunus Emre album, consisted of her own compositions. She attended to many NGOs’ activity and member of board of management of many foundations. She passed away in 2011 and was buried in Istanbul.
